- Article Language and Formal Characteristics
- Articles are accepted in Turkish or English.
- Page structure: 2.5 cm space should be left from all edges.
- Font: Times New Roman; 11 font size, 1.15 line spacing.
- Paragraphs should be justified and edited using the “Insert space after paragraph” option in the Word paragraph settings. Empty rows should not be added manually.
- Paragraphs should not be indented.
- Line numbers: Except for the Summary/Abstract section, line numbers should be added to all lines of the main text.
- Abbreviations: It should be defined in the first place in the main text by giving its clear form, its abbreviation should be specified in parentheses, only abbreviation should be used in subsequent uses.
- All text must be written in black.
- In all headings, only the first letter of each word should be capitalized (except for ABSTRACT and ÖZET).
- All headings in the full text and title page must be written in bold font. (In tables and figures, only the numbering part of the heading should be in bold font. (e.g., Table 3. Aaaaaaa)
- File Upload Rules
- Under the “Full Text” heading, a single Word document containing the abstract, main text, references, tables, and figures must be uploaded to the system.
- Additionally,all components listed below must be uploaded separately under their respective headings:

- The name of each file uploaded must be exactly compatible with the file type selected when uploading to the system. (For example: If "Full Text" is selected as the file type, the file name should also be "Full Text".)
- When uploading the full-text file, please remove author information from the Word > File > Info section.
- Abstract and Keywords
- Each article should have Turkish and English titles and abstracts.
- Abstracts must contain no more than 250 words.
- In original research articles, the abstract section should include the following headings:
- Turkish: Purpose, Materials and Methods, Findings, Conclusion, Keywords
- English: Objectives, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusion, Keywords
- Keywords should be 3-5, arranged in alphabetical order and selected in accordance with the lists of MeSH (https://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh) and Turkish Science Terms (http://www.bilimterimleri.com).
- The first letter of the first word of each keyword must be capitalized.
- Keywords must be separated by commas.
- Title Page
- The title page must be uploaded as a separate file and contain the following information:
- The full title of the manuscript in Turkish and English (not exceeding 15 words) and a short title (not exceeding 50 characters including spaces).
- Author information: Name-surname, title, institution, ORCID ID, e-mail addresses of all authors.
- Corresponding author's phone number and full address information.
- Information on financial support, conflicts of interest and thanks.
- Institution names mentioned in the full text must be written as XXXXX and provided on the title page in the format: XXXXXX: ………
- Figures and Tables
- In original research articles, the total number of tables and figures must not exceed 8.
- Figures and tables must be both embedded within the text and uploaded as a separate combined file.
- Figure legends must appear below the figures, while table titles must appear above the tables.
- Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1, Figure 2).
- Tables should be prepared without lines, there should only be a line between the main headings and the data.
- The tables should be prepared with Times New Roman font and 1.15 line spacing, with the top line being 10 points, the content lines being 9 points, and the table title being 8 points.
- Tables should not be presented in visual formats (e.g. JPEG, PNG). It should be prepared with Word, Excel or similar text or table editors.
- Figures must be in TIFF or JPEG format, with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI and minimum dimensions of 100×100 mm.
- Figure legends must be placed below the figures and prepared in Times New Roman, 8 pt font, with 1.15 line spacing.
- Bibliography
- Resources should be organized in Vancouver style.
- References in the text should be written in the form of superscript, after the punctuation mark at the end of the sentence and without spaces.
- If the sentence includes the name of the author, the source number should be written immediately after the author name, at the end of the relevant statement, as a superscript after the punctuation mark.
- For example: This relationship has been shown in the study conducted by Yılmaz¹.
- The title of the bibliography section, "Bibliography", should be 11 pt; all sources should be 10 pt, Times New Roman font and 1.15 line spacing.
- Correct formatting should be made for each type of source in the bibliography writing and only the sources referred to in the text should be listed. ID number of any sequence such as PMID, PMCID, PMC should not be added.
- If there are six or fewer authors, all authors should be listed. If there are seven or more authors, the first three authors should be listed and then the phrase “et al.” should be added to the reference list.
- When editing bibliography according to Vancouver style, only journal titles, book titles and thesis titles should be written in italics . All other information — including author names, article titles, publisher information, page numbers and website addresses — should be written in normal (plain) font.

- Ethical Principles and Documents
- Ethics committee approval is required for original research . The relevant approval document should be uploaded to the system, and ethics committee information should be included in the "Materials and Methods" section.
- For studies that do not require ethics committee approval, the reason should be stated.
- Informed consent form and patient consent form should be uploaded for case reports.
- For manuscripts that do not require ethics committee approval, a written statement addressed to the editor explaining this must be uploaded to the system.
- Acknowledgement
- Persons who do not meet the authorship criteria but contribute to the planning, execution, analysis or reporting of the study can be thanked.
- Persons , institutions or organizations that provide financial, material or technical support to the study should also be included in this section.
- The project name and/or fund number, if any, of the supporting institution or funds should be clearly written.
- It is assumed that the people thanked have seen the content of the text and have given their consent to their names being mentioned.
Ex: “This study was supported by the XYZ Research Fund (Project No: 12345). The authors also noted that due to their technical support, Dr. Ayşe thanks Kaya."
- Similarity Report
- The similarity report from iThenticate or Turnitin systems must be uploaded separately.
- The maximum accepted similarity rate is 15%.
- Copyright and Other Forms
- Copyright Form, Conflict of Interest Form and Author Contribution Form should be downloaded from the journal homepage and uploaded to the system in wet signed form.
- A declaration of conflict of interest is mandatory. All authors must declare financial or institutional relationships. This process is carried out according to COPE and ICMJE guidelines.
- Article Types
11.1 Original Research Article
Clinical and experimental studies are evaluated in this category.
Turkish: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Findings, Discussion, Conclusion.
English: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion.
Introduction
- It should clearly state the subject, importance and purpose of the research.
- Literature information on the subject should be presented in a short and concise manner.
- The research problem should be clearly defined.
Tools and Methods
- The research design, materials and methods used should be explained in detail.
- Elements such as the device, software, chemical substance used should be indicated by their trade name and origin.
- Statistical analysis methods should be specified.
- If there is an ethics committee approval, the name, decision date and number of the ethics committee should be written. In cases where it is not necessary, the reason should be stated.
Findings
- Research results should be presented in a clear and systematic manner.
- Where necessary, they should be supported with tables and figures. Information presented in tables and figures must not be repeated in the text.
- Statistical results should be given with significance levels.
Discussion
- The findings obtained should be compared with the literature, and similarities and differences should be evaluated.
- The scientific and clinical significance of the findings should be explained.
- Strengths and limitations of the research should be specified and suggestions for future research should be presented.
Conclusion
- The main results obtained from the research should be expressed in a short and concise manner.
- Repetition of findings should be avoided and direct results should be focused on.
11.2 Review
It should be prepared systematically in the light of the scientific literature on current issues in the field of dentistry, and the author(s) should have a publication history on the subject.
Introduction
- Introduces the subject and scope of the review.
- It should be stated why this issue is addressed and the topicality of the issue.
Subtitles
- The content of the review should be organized into subtitles according to the structure of the subject as the author deems appropriate.
- Under each subheading, up-to-date information, comments and comparisons on the subject should be presented.
Conclusion
- The conclusions obtained in the review should be summarized and suggestions, if any, should be presented.
- The review text should be completed with the title "Conclusion" or "Conclusion".
- Review articles should not contain original research data.
- In cases that do not require ethics committee approval, this situation should be stated with its justification.
- It is preferred that the author(s) have scientific studies on the subject in the review articles.
11.3 Case Report
The presentation of rare cases, difficult to diagnose and treat, not included in the literature or with high educational value is evaluated in this category.
Turkish: Introduction, Case Report, Conclusion.
English: Introduction, Case Report, Conclusion.
Introduction
- The importance of the case, its place in the literature and the reason for its presentation should be explained.
- Brief literature information on the subject can be given.
Case Report
- The patient's demographic information, reasons for admission, clinical and radiological findings should be explained in detail.
- The applied treatment process should be explained step by step, and the materials/medical tools used, if any, should be specified.
- Informed consent should be obtained from the patient in case reports and this should be clearly stated in the text.
- If any identifiable data (visual, text) is used, confidentiality should be ensured in accordance with ethical principles.
Conclusion
- The evaluation of the case, its remarkable aspects and comparison with the literature should be made.
- The scientific and/or clinical contribution of the case should be emphasized.
11.4 Letter to the Editor
It is written for the purpose of commenting, contributing, criticizing or providing up-to-date and interesting information on an article previously published in the journal. It must have the following characteristics:
- The text of the Letter to the Editor should not contain subtitles and should be concise, short and understandable.
- Clear reference should be made to the relevant article; the title, authors, volume, year, number and page numbers of the article should be indicated.
- References to the article should be clearly shown in the text and included in the list of sources.
- Abstract, keyword, table, figure, picture and other visuals should not be used.
The letter should not exceed one page and should only contain topics that are appropriate to the scope of the journal.
12. Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the journal are first evaluated by the editors.
• The editorial board reserves the right not to proceed with manuscripts that do not meet scientific quality or ethical standards.
• Manuscripts that meet formal and ethical requirements are sent to at least two expert reviewers in the relevant field.
The peer review process is conducted using a double-blind system; authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other.
• Based on reviewers’ comments, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
o Accept
o Revise and resubmit
o Reject
• Authors must respond to reviewers’ comments within the specified time. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers if necessary.
13. Revision Process
In cases where revision is requested, authors must prepare a separate document addressing each reviewer comment individually and upload it to the system as a Word file titled “Response to Reviewers.”
While preparing the response:
• The line number of the revised text corresponding to each comment must be clearly indicated.
Changes made in the main text must be highlighted .
Example:
If a reviewer comments that the origin of a material is not specified:
“The origin of the material used has been added in parentheses in line 56 of the manuscript.”
In the revised manuscript, the correction should be highlighted as follows:
“The treatment of internal resorption was carried out using MTA (Pro Root, Dentsply/Tulsa Dental, Tulsa, OK) .”
